Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdould Aziz Alsaud, a member of the Saudi Royal Family, has commended Rwanda’s rapid transformation in the last 17 years.

Speaking to the press after meeting President Paul Kagame at Urugwiro Village today, Prince Alwaleed said that Rwanda is now on the world radar:

“We came here to assure Mr. President of our support to have his vision materialize and to see if we can be of assistance to the Rwandan people. We will be coordinating with the President’s Office through the Ministry of Finance to see if we can start projects on the philanthropic front to help the Rwandan people. We have just begun our engagement with Rwanda and in future there will be visits by our designated investment delegations which will decide on projects that will be good for us and the Rwandan people”

Prince Alwaleed is a private entrepreneur and international investor. He was accompanied during the visit by his wife Princess Ameerah Al Taweel who is also vice-chairwoman of the Alwaleel Bin Talal Humanitarian foundation.
