President Kagame today received board members of the Nigeria Oxford-Cambridge Club who paid him a courtesy call after joining Rwandans and friends of Rwanda at the ceremony to mark the conclusion of the Gacaca Courts at Parliament.
After the meeting, Akinfela Akoni, Group Legal Counsel, Airtel and President of The Oxford and Cambridge Club of Nigeria said:
“We were eager to meet President Kagame because he is one leader who has demonstrated good qualities of leadership all through his work, evidenced by the way he has managed to make the people of Rwanda become one unit. We were very happy and privileged to attend the closing of the Gacaca closing ceremony today and in addition to this meeting with the President, we take very rich experiences with us back to Nigeria. We have also made an offer to the President to come and give a public lecture at an event organized by the club in Nigeria and we hope this will happen”.
Faustin Mbundu, Chairman of the Private Sector Federation who accompanied the group said:
“The Oxford-Cambridge Club is composed of leaders in various fields in Nigeria and they expressed interest to learn from President Kagame. They also attended the Gacaca closing ceremony and were able to learn a lot from the experiences shared”.
