President Kagame today received the CEO of Marriott Hotels International, Arne Sorensen who came to attend the official opening of Marriott hotel Kigali, the first hotel of its brand in sub-Saharan Africa.

After meeting President Kagame, Sorensen said his discussions with President Kagame dwelt on many issues regarding Rwanda’s hospitality industry and the hotel group’s interests in Rwanda.

 

“Rwanda’s future is impressive especially in tourism. Rwanda’s visibility in Africa and the rest of the world is a key factor in attracting investments in different sectors. Marriott looks to come to Rwanda and take advantage of the economic growth.”

The CEO of the Rwanda Development Board, Francis Gatare said the entry of Marriott Hotel into Rwanda would boost Rwanda’s hospitality industry and MICE initiative, considering their standing in the global hotel industry.
