Kigali, 31 March 2017

President Kagame has today received a delegation of 20 Australian and American businesspeople who are members of “Australia Davos Connection” Forum (ADC) who have been on a visit to Rwanda during the period 27-31 March 2017. The visit was organized and led by Michael Roux, Rwanda’s Honorary Consul in Melbourne- Australia, alongside Major General Michael Jeffery, former Governor-General of Australia from 2003 to 2008and Patron of ADC forum.

Speaking after meeting President Kagame today, Michael Roux said the delegation had had a fruitful three-day visit and were impressed by the business environment in Rwanda which prompted some of them to register companies.

 

“Members of the delegation identified investment opportunities as well as areas cooperation. There is likely to be more investments in the near future in the opportunities identified.”  

The Minister of Infrastructure, James Musoni said during the meeting with President Kagame, the delegation talked of their interest in investing in Rwanda, especially in areas of technology for affordable housing, Agro-processing and packaging technologies, drone technology in agriculture and mining, health and education, among others.

Delegation members are Industry experts in various fields of Agriculture, ICT, Affordable Housing and Education.

While in Rwanda, the delegation has interacted and exchanged views with senior Government officials but also toured key historical sites.
