“In Rwanda, we have many unique situations that result from our history, from our political context, from our geographical location in the region, like the fact that we don’t have direct access to a port. Because of that, we have to look for all the possible ways we can use to make our lives better, to develop, and to achieve our various aspirations. The Senate plays a crucial role in this regard, especially when it works with others, and with other institutions. That collaboration results in solving some of our most pressing challenges, including those that would otherwise seem unsolvable; when we think clearly about those difficult issues, bearing in mind the uniqueness of Rwanda’s context, we get them solved.
When solving the challenges that our country faces, we should first and foremost ensure that no Rwandan is left behind. Every Rwandan has to see themselves in the solutions we seek or those that we find for those challenges, and they have to play their part. They should not just enjoy the benefits, but also play a role in finding solutions.” President Kagame | Swearing-in of new Senators.
