Kigali, 5 March 2016
President Kagame has bid farewell to President Ismail Omar Guelleh of Djibouti, who concluded his two day official visit to Rwanda. During a joint press conference at Urugwiro Village marking the end of the visit, both Presidents commended the strong relationship existing between the two countries and pledged to work together to strengthen them further.
President Kagame thanked President Guelleh for finding time to visit Rwanda and promised to pay a reciprocal visit to Djibouti in the near future.
Speaking about regional integration, President said:
“Progress is made; the only thing is how fast we can move. We want to move faster. We are happy to continue cooperating with our brothers and sisters to strengthen the integration of our region”
The press conference was preceded by bilateral talks between the two Presidents and the signing of cooperation agreements by the foreign Ministers of Rwanda and Djibouti and another one by the head of the port of Djibouti and the CEO of the Rwanda Development Board.
