President Kagame today received the outgoing British High Commissioner, William Gelling, who called to bid him farewell as his tour of duty comes to a conclusion, after a three year tenure.

Addressing members of the press after the meeting, the High Commissioner said a lot of progress had happened during his tenure, including various partnerships in areas of security and the economy.

Rwanda and UK hold excellent bilateral relations. Through the its international development support arm, DFID the UK and Rwanda hold partnership in Education, Agriculture and Social Protection sectors as well as trade and investment.

The UK also supports East African Regional projects such as Trade Mark East Africa; an initiative aimed at supporting trade facilitation programs amongst EAC Countries.
