President Kagame today joined a panel session with President Uhuru Kenyatta and African Union Commissioner for Rural Development and Agriculture at the 2016 African Green Revolution Forum (AGRF) in Nairobi Kenya. Themed Seize the Moment: Africa Rising through Agricultural Transformation, the forum brought together and around 1,500 stakeholders to advance policies and secure investments that will progress the continent’s economic stability.
President Kagame was speaking yesterday at the African Green Revolution Forum (AGRF) in Nairobi, Kenya during a panel session alongside Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and Rhoda Tumusiime, the African Union Commissioner for Rural Development and Agriculture.
In addition, the meeting aims to transform the continent from a perpetual net importer of agricultural products to a global player in the agricultural arena with a significant command of the global market.
“We should not only seize the moment but continue momentum for transformation of agriculture and economies of our continent. Agriculture is not just one sector of the economy, amongst others – it’s the backbone of the economy. We need to strengthen the involvement of other parts of the value chain, especially the private sector. Let’s have more action and less talk.” President Kagame said.
