Kigali, 29 March 2016

President Kagame today officiated at the swearing-in ceremony of the new Minister of Gender and Family Promotion, Dianne Gashumba. During the same ceremony, the new Army Chief of Staff, Major General Jacques Musemakeri, the new Air force Chief of Staff and the new Secretary General of the National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS) also took oath of service.

In his address, President Kagame asked the new leaders to work with diligence and collaborate with other leaders in order to move the country forward.

 

“As you all witnessed today, most of those who took oath today are leaders of security organs. This is because we consider security as a strong pillar of development, working hand in hand with other state organs and regional security agencies. We should all work together to give our people better lives as they deserve.”

President Kagame pointed out that the frequent changes in public appointments are routine processes of within the Government.
