President Kagame today received Shri Kalraj Mishra, Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises who has been on a four day visit in Rwanda, where he inaugurated a Vocational Training and Incubation Centre in Kigali.

The Minister’s visit is in line with a cooperation agreement between Rwanda and India to share experience in developing skills, technology and products for the development of small and medium enterprises.

Minister Shri Kalraj Mishra said:

“I was happy to meet the President today, to deliver greetings from the Indian Prime Minister and we had discussions regarding cooperation between Rwanda and India and the areas where we have agreed to work together, in order to boost the economic development of Rwanda.”

 

The State Minister for Vocational Training, Albert Nsengiyumva said the cooperation between Rwanda and India is one where Rwanda reaps a lot of benefits especially in the area of Agro-processing and vocational training. He also said that in the last five years, substantial investments have been realized in Rwanda from India, notably a soon-to-be inaugurated Nyabarongo hydro power plant that will yield 28 MW and the just inaugurated Vocational Training and Incubation Centre.
