“In the end, we have to recover that sense that we are capable human beings as anyone else, as Europeans, Americans, Asians, the Russians. Because that is the truth. We just have to accept that truth and not be lazy about working to achieve what dignity builds on. Dignity builds on being capable to provide for yourself, you can’t have dignity when all your life you are dependent on somebody else. You can’t. Then the question is even why? By the way, poverty that is prevalent in our continent, poverty should not be a permanent state that we find ourselves in. It is a state we may be in today, but we can do something to get out of it.”- President Kagame addresses close to 2,000 members of the private sector from Cote d’Ivoire and the West African region at the CGECI Academy.
