Rubavu, 10 May 2019
President Kagame today concluded his three-day visit to the North and Western provinces in Rubavu District where he met and interacted with more than one hundred thousand residents of Rubavu and Rutsiro Districts at the Nyundo Diocese grounds in Rubavu.
In his address, President Kagame asked the people of the two districts to work hard in order to uplift their lives and those of their families.
“You are fortunate to be located at the border with our neighbour, DRC. With good cooperation, both countries can work together for the prosperity of both our nations. But it does not start with our neighbours, it begins with improving our own market here at home. Once we are able to provide and serve our own market, it will be the foundation for trading with our partners. Being at the border is an opportunity to work together and trade with each other. You should not waste the opportunity this location provides.”
President Kagame also accorded the residents a question and answer session following his address.
