Urugwiro Village, 10 February, 2011
President Kagame today received in his office at Urugwiro Village, the ADB President Dr. Donald Kabruka who paid a courtesy call on him after attending the just concluded African Capacity Building Foundation 20th Anniversary celebrations in Kigali.
Speaking to the Press soon after meeting President Kagame, the ADB President said that the discussion with President Kagame focused on cooperation between Rwanda and the African Development Bank which he said was good. “…Both sides are happy – the Rwanda Government is happy with what the bank is doing here and we are pleased with the progress Rwanda is making. We support the Rwanda Government’s budget and we are one of the largest supporters of the budget of Rwanda, we support the infrastructure sector, education, agriculture and increasingly we are now supporting the private sector in Rwanda. You may be aware that only a few months back we gave out a loan to the cement factory and last week we provided 24 million Dollars for gas development in Lake Kivu to support energy development in Rwanda. Broadly we are satisfied and we are to receive extra counsel from the President on the best way to support Rwanda and the region,” Dr. Kaberuka said.
