President Kagame today led state officials and families of fallen Rwandan heroes in commemorating Heroes Day by laying a wreath at the monument to heroes at the Heroes’ Cemetery in Remera.
Today’s solemn ceremony at the Heroes’ Cemetery was also attended by representatives of Diplomatic Corps and international organizations.
This year’s commemoration theme was; Duharanire ubutwari, duhashya ihohoterwa rikorerwa abana (Let’s strive for heroism by fighting violence against children). Commemoration events were held locally at village level (umudugudu), where communities took part in discussions on the meaning on heroism and on protecting Rwandan children.
